About

As a school teacher, Head of Science, Languages and Sport, with a MA in Education and a MSC in Human Health & Wellbeing, I have developed a strong passion for educating our youths of today and future generations about the importance of protecting our planet and our wellbeing.

I was awarded the Dean’s Commendation a MSC in Human Health & Wellbeing with the University of Exeter and went on to have a paper published: A fragmented sense of home: Reconfiguring therapeutic coastal encounters in Covid-19 times - ScienceDirect

With 3 years of teaching English as Foreign Language as well as helping set up and volunteer in a Street School in Indonesia, I have always promoted Environmental Education wherever I have taught.

When not working, there are too many adventures and passions to list but personal highlights are:

  • Sailing in a crew of 4 across the Atlantic Ocean and South Pacific Ocean.

  • Solo cycling and camping from Devon, UK to Nice, South of France.

  • Walking and camping the entire South West Coast Path.

Our planet and the ocean is a part of my every day life. Having moved to the coast of North Devon 11 years ago and with the Covid-19 travel restrictions, I have become increasingly content with my daily and local adventures. Whether it is surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, cold water swimming at sunrise in the winter with friends or simply, walking along the beach, I feel incredibly lucky to live in such a beautiful corner or the world and daily try to protect it.

Aside from Environmental Educational Consultancy Ltd, I also set up and run Community Environmental Educational Therapy CIC which is a non-profit organisation that supports the mental health and wellbeing of young people and adults in North Devon through environmental educational and nature therapy projects. We support school students, adults, refugees and our elderly. For our adults, refugees and elderly, we have created a space where they have made friends and have found mutual interests in activities to support our planet. This has enabled these people to be able to independently meet up together, supporting their wellbeing and friendships, whilst doing an activity they have chosen to fight climate change.
